Editing & Teaching

Aside from my writing, I work as a freelance editor and writing tutor (academic writing, creative non-fiction, nature writing, and creative writing for academics looking to branch out). I’ve edited for large publishing houses, authors, academics, and businesses. I’m especially experienced with English-language texts by non-native speakers. As a writing tutor, I’ve run workshops at universities, research institutes, and creative writing schools in Germany, the UK, Norway, the US, and Canada. I taught on the University of Cambridge Creative Non-Fiction programme from 2020-2024. I am currently Course Director of the Granta Nature Writing Workshop and a faculty mentor on the MFA in Creative Non-Fiction at the University of King’s College.

I offer:

  • developmental editing (book manuscripts)

  • copy editing (all types of texts, such as PhD theses, articles, books)

  • manuscript assessments (especially for memoirs and non-fiction, especially nature-focussed)

  • non-fiction book proposal feedback and assessment

  • sensitivity or authenticity reads (for nature texts especially)

  • one-to-one writing coaching (especially for creative non-fiction)

  • group workshops (in-person and remote)
